Mini Marathon Medalists

12 Very fit Cub & Beaver Leaders and very fit Mammies and friends of the group on Monday 1 June 2009 took part in the Ladies mini marathon in Dublin to raise much needed funds for the group.

Group Leader Gerry Finnegan said "Tremendous applause and a big BRAVO is truly due to the Parents and Friends of the group for their Trojan efforts in training and competing in the Ladies mini marathon in order to raise much needed funds. Congratulations are due to Ita Ferguson, Julie Ross, Carmel Farrell, Karen Finnegan, Tracy Sharkey, Denise mc Elroy, Deirdre mc Quaid, Alanna Finnegan, Geraldine Barry, Ann mc Donald, Caroline o Connor, Nadia Ferguson." This initiative was started off by Tara Lawless in 2008 when she competed in the Mini marathon on a solo run as a fundraiser for the group. Next year in 2010, it is hoped that more parents and friends of the group to get out walking & running and to get involved. Credit is due to Cub Leader's Tracy Sharkey and Karen Finnegan for co ordinating the team on behalf of the group.
