History of Scout Group
Cubs
Marie McMullan being identified as Cub Leader, we
were able to sign up for "Only an hour a week" the Group
Secretary Tracy Sharkey. We started Cubs in late October 2007after
a "Swim up" ceremony of 11 Beavers into Cubs.
It was time to recruit again and notices were once
again put in all the schools and shops in the area along with contact
made with names and addresses from the original set. Another leader
was recruited, Abby mc Sherry, followed soon after by Pat Shannon
a former Scout Himself from Bellurgan.
The cubs are now up and running with a healthy number
and have a good varied, balanced programme.
It was time to recruit again and notices were once again put in
all the schools and shops in the area along with contact made with
names and addresses from the original set. Another leader was recruited,
Abby mc Sherry, followed soon after by Pat Shannon a former Scout
Himself from Bellurgan. In April 2009, another leader joined the
team to make it 5, Aidan Carr haling all the way from Cooley.
