Louth County Scout
(hike & overnight)

Arrangements
We are very lucky that we live here and that Scouts from all
over the County come and visit our area! There is a County Hike
and Overnight planned for the above dates 21/22 Nov, which includes
an overnight in Carlingford Adventure Centre, Evening meal, accommodation
and Continental breakfast. We are offering 8th Louth Scouts the
option of just attending the hike for free or having the craic and
fun of the overnight with other Scouts in the county.
Cost (if on overnight)
Deposit €14 per scout, to be paid next Thursday 21st September
and the balance €14 (Total €28) closer to the event. For
Scouts not staying at all the event will be free. Please fill in
below and get back to us.
Activity - To offer Scouts the experience of Hiking and
hostelling with other Scouts from the county.
Hiking all day Saturday, evening meal Sat evening in Adventure
centre, overnight & breakfast following morning. Check out
10am
Personal Gear
Can all Scouts strictly adhere to the following.
Day Sack/Rucksack to fit everything in. Tip: Line bag with Black
Bag and then insert all the gear, no rucksack is waterproof, this
makes it!
Raingear & Warm clothes for outside. Boots are really great,
can be waterproof and give ankle support.
Torch
Packed Lunch for day
Snack food for along the way, remember you have to carry it!
Water in a bottle or platypus
A Survival bag/Bivi bag, ( a couple of euro in Outdoor exchange
in Dundalk or Millets in Newry. Outdoor exchange do give all scouts
10% discount. Ask for It! Tell Jock Gerry said!
Small pack of tissue or a little toilet roll, we are on a mountain,
so behind the nearest bush/rock is the spot!
In Separate bag for Overnight.
Night attire.
Sleeping Bag (& Groundmat if you have one.)
Wash gear to a minimum, it is just for a day and it has to be
carried!
Special Note
Strictly No Mobile phones, communication channel through a leaders
phone. Mobile phones will be confiscated if found.
No PSP, DS or any other games consoles.
Sleeping Arrangements, Separate Boys and Girls dorms.
